چکیده

The endocrine cells of the human duodenal bulb were observed under the electron microscope in biopsy tissues taken by normal procedure and after luminal acidification. 1. The endocrine cells in this portion were found more frequently than in the lower part of the duodenum previously examined by our research group. 2. At least 9 types of endocrine cells were distinguished by their fine structures, i.e., EC, EC-like, D, D1, G, L. M, S and A-like cells. 3. Emiocytotic granule release was recognized in 4 types, i.e., D, D1, L and M cells, 5 min after the infusion of 40ml of 0.1N HCl (pH 1.5) into the duodenal lumen. 4. The hormones produced by these 4 cell types were proposed to be anti-acidic agents such as secretin, enterogastrone or GIP, CCK-PZ and enteroglucagon. 5. The possible significance of the other 5 types of endocrine cells were also discussed.

Endocrine cells in human jejunum and ileum: an electron microscope study of biopsy materials.

Endocrine cells in biopsy tissues of human jejunum and ileum were observed under the electron microscope. 1. The endocrine cells were found much less frequently in the jejunum than in the duodenum previously examined. They were still fewer in the ileum. 2. The EC cell was the predominant type. Some variant cells of this type such as those with small-sized granules and with vacuolated granules w...

Electron microscope studies on the endocrine cells of the human gastric fundus.

In the previous two papers we reported on the occurrence and fine structures of multiple types of basal-granulated or endocrine cells in the human duodenum and pyloric antrum. In duodenal mucosa derived from surgical operations five types of endocrine cells were identified among which EC cells (enterochrmaffin cells) and D-like cells were especially numerous. In the antral mucosa which was take...

The mitral and short axon cells of the olfactory bulb.

A description is given of the mitral and short axon cells of the olfactory bulb of the rat from Golgi material examined with the light microscope and from material examined with the electron microscope. The mitral cells are large neurons with primary and secondary dendrites which both extend into the overlying external plexiform layer, although only the primary dendrite enters the glomerular fo...

Prolonged Release Evaluation of an Injectable Anticancer Drug using Human Serum Albumin Nanoparticle

Human serum albumin nanoparticles (HSA-NPs) were synthesized using the modified desolvation method. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), electronic absorption spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Zeta Sizer as well as field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) of the sample confirmed the formation of HSA NPs with an average size of 68 nm. The obtained results shown that HSA-NPs was succ...

The morphology of the granule cells of the olfactory bulb.

The granule cells of the olfactory bulb of the rat have been studied in material prepared by the Golgi-Kopsch method for examination with the light microscope, and in material examined with the electron microscope. With the Golgi method, the granule cells are found to have no process which can be identified as a typical axon, but from the superficial aspect of the somata stout peripheral proces...
